
The Mayor Rural Development Foundation, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, held a one-day free medical outreach for aged persons in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The medical initiative, held in honour to the late Madam Victoria Oji Ishokare (popularly known as Osibare), grandmother of the Foundation’s President, Mr. Matthew Anigbere, underscored the Foundation’s mission to provide succour and improve healthcare access for residents in rural communities.

The outreach provided essential healthcare services to elderly members of the community, who often face challenges accessing medical care.
Services offered included free medical consultations, health screenings, distribution of medications, and health education.

Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Jaro Omovudu Egbo, commended the Foundation for the initiative, noting that it aligns with his administration’s health agenda and investment in the wellbeing of residents.
He also expressed appreciation to Mr. Anigbere for honouring his grandmother in such a meaningful way that directly benefits the elderly at the grassroots.The Ovie of Agbarha-Otor Kingdom, HRM Amb. Dr. Richard O. Ebelle Okorefe I (JP), represented by Chiefs including Chief Bestman Itiveh and Professor Ibodje Umoren, lauded the Foundation for extending free medical care to indigenes of the community.

Also speaking, Hon. Orido December, Councillor representing Agbarha Ward 1, alongside other community leaders and beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its generosity and commitment to improving the lives of aged persons.
Board of Trustees Chairman, Comrade Merit Anigbere; Head of Administration, Chief Johnson Akienabor; and Mrs. Elizabeth Akienabor reiterated that the initiative reflects the Foundation’s dedication to enhancing the wellbeing of rural dwellers through consistent, impactful programmes.

The Agbarha-Otor outreach adds to the growing list of health-focused interventions facilitated by the Mayor Rural Development Foundation, which continues to make healthcare more accessible to underserved communities across Delta State.
